News Desk: Upon arriving in Fatikchhari, Chattogram, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman paid a courtesy visit to the Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari. During the meeting, the Prime Minister embraced the Hefazat chief, expressing his warmth and cordiality.
The Prime Minister arrived by helicopter at around 3:00 pm on Sunday at Pelagazi C&B field in Paindong Union of Fatikchhari. He then traveled by road to Al-Jamiatul Islamia Babunagari Madrasa.
Upon his arrival at the madrasa, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Maulana Sajidur Rahman and Muhibullah Babunagari’s son, Maulana Ayub Babunagari, welcomed the Prime Minister. At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister embraced the Hefazat chief. A warm and cordial atmosphere prevailed between the two during the meeting.
Those present at the meeting included Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Mohammad Helal, local Member of Parliament Sarwar Alamgir, and Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Maulana Sajidur Rahman.
At the rally, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh placed nine demands before Prime Minister Tareque Rahman, including the enactment of a law prescribing the severest punishment for insulting Almighty Allah, the Prophet (PBUH), the Holy Quran and Islam, and ensuring that no law conflicting with the Quran and Sunnah is enacted.
