The US naval commander visited Lalbagh Fort

News Desk: Admiral Steve Koehler, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, visited the historic Lalbagh Fort on the final day of his visit to Dhaka. He was accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen during the visit.

The information was announced in a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday (6 August).

According to the statement, Admiral Koehler toured the restored Hammamkhana (Mughal bathhouse) at Lalbagh Fort. During the visit, he was also briefed on the contributions of the U.S. Embassy toward preserving Bangladesh's rich cultural heritage.

Admiral Koehler arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday for a three-day official visit.

Located on the banks of the Buriganga River in the capital, Lalbagh Fort is one of the most significant historical monuments from the Mughal era and remains one of Bangladesh's most important archaeological sites.
