The newborn was rescued three days after being abducted in Sharjah

News Desk: A 24-day-old newborn stolen from Jessore's Sharsha Upazila has been rescued from Satkhira. The baby's name is Tahsin. Police rescued the newborn from Sonabaria village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira on Saturday night, three days after the abduction.

Shishu Tahsin is the only child of Ashraful Islam and Jannatul of Rudrapur village in Sharsha upazila. Meanwhile, two people have been arrested in the incident; They are Salma Khatun, 23, wife of Milon Ghazi of Sonabaria village in Kalaroa upazila and her father-in-law Lutfar Ghazi, 55.

Sharsha Police Station OC Badrul Alam Khan said the child was rescued from the house of Lutfar Rahman Gazi of Sonabaria village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira at 7.30 pm on Saturday. After that, the newborn has been explained to the parents.

Earlier on Wednesday, a case was registered at Sharsha police station mentioning an unidentified accused. After rescuing the child, the case was taken as a regular case. The arrested accused have been taken into custody in Jessore PBI for questioning. The baby was returned to his parents shortly after his rescue.

Ashraful Islam of Rudrapur village in the upazila said that the woman was tempted to go home on January 20 as a female NGO worker and hand over her maternity allowance card to his wife Jannatul.

On Wednesday morning, the woman took Ashraful's wife and mother to Bagamchara market saying she would pay Tk 30,000. At one point they go to a hotel in Bagamchara market for breakfast.

Tactically, the woman left them on the breakfast table and fled with the newborn Tahsin in her lap. After a while they were searched around the hotel; But not found anywhere. After that a case was filed in Sharsha police station mentioning an unknown accused.
