Child rape in Chatkhil, Noakhali, 3 arrested

News Desk: Police have arrested three people on charges of raping a 13-year-old child laborer in Noakhali's Chatkhil municipality. The child's father has filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. The accused were sent to the district jail through the judicial court on Saturday (April 10) afternoon.

The arrested are Rabbi, 19, son of Jamal of Nur Khan village in Chandraganj Upazila of Laxmipur district, Sumon, 26, son of Ibrahim of the same village and Didar Hossain, 28, son of Abdul of Ward 3 of Charmatua union in Noakhali's Sadar Upazila.

According to the complaint, the arrested accused and the abused child was working in the same fruit shop. Three days ago, once and more than once, the three accused raped the child in a fruit shop. According to the sources, the three accused fled when people tried to rape her again inside the fruit shop at around 7.30 pm on Friday. When the father of the abused child reported the matter to Chatkhil police station, the police arrested the three accused.

Chatkhil Police Station OC Anwarul Islam confirmed the matter and said the child's father had filed a case accusing the three. The accused have been arrested and sent to jail.
