Netrokonaya child committed suicide by wrapping a towel around his neck!

News Desk: A child named Khairul Islam (10) has reportedly committed suicide by wrapping a towel around his neck in Netrokona's Durgapur Sadar Union. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon.

Khairul Islam is the son of Soleman of Farangpara village in Durgapur union. According to his relatives, Khairul went to the kitchen on Sunday when everyone was busy with family work, tied a towel to the wall of the house and wrapped his neck around himself, and committed suicide. In the evening, his elder sister Razia left the house to fetch the cows and went to the kitchen to see Khairul lying on the ground.

When Razia started shouting, the locals came and rescued Khairul and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. He died on the way. After receiving the news, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Durgapur Police Station Shahnur-e-Alam confirmed the incident and said the body was sent to Netrokona morgue for autopsy. The family did not know the reason for the child's suicide.
