Husband and wife strangled to death in Damurhuda, Chuadanga

Chuadanga Correspondent: Miscreants strangled a husband and wife at Damurhuda in Chuadanga. Police have arrested five people, including Ferdousi Khatun, his divorced second wife. Police recovered their bodies from their house in Gobindapur village of Damurhuda upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Yar Ali, 60, and his wife Rozina Khatun, 45, of Gobindpur village. Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue. Police recovered a blood-stained domestic sharp weapon from the spot. CID and PBI are investigating the incident. According to police, Yar Ali of Gobindpur village and his third wife Rozina Khatun fell asleep in their house after eating and drinking on Saturday evening.

Neighbors became suspicious of the incident as they did not see anyone coming and going in the house since Sunday morning and did not hear any response from them. Neighbors informed the police on Sunday evening when they saw the mutilated body of the husband and wife lying inside the house through the window.

Police recovered the bodies of the two victims from the spot and sent them to the Sadar Hospital morgue. CID and PBI are investigating the incident. Damurhada Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Khaleq said it is believed that the miscreants left their bodies in the house a day ago after killing them by strangulation.
