Farmers at Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj are busy cultivating eggplants just in time for Ramadan. Although they sell eggplants at a wholesale rate of Tk 10 per kilogram, they are hoping to make a lot of profit from this year's yield, as eggplant is the key ingredient for a popular fritter staple for iftar - the Beguni.
