3 people jailed for selling dead and diseased beef

Doha Correspondent:  The mobile court sentenced 3 people to prison for the crime of selling dead and diseased beef in Dhaka's Doha. The convicts are Sheikh Nuru (55) son of Sheikh Montaj Uddin of Joypara village, Zubair Hossain (19) son of Azad Hossain of Madhya Latakhola village and Bashar Hossain (19) son of Swapan Sheikh of Doha Puri village. Doha Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court conducted the mobile court on Tuesday (April 24) morning. Mamun Khan.

According to sources of the mobile court, the mobile court raided Joypara market of the upazila based on secret information. Slaughter of dead and diseased animals prohibited during slaughter and sale of meat, often for various fraudulent offences. 3 persons accused under relevant sections of Animal Slaughter and Meat Control Act, 2011 and Animal Slaughter and Meat Control Rules, 2021 were sentenced to 10 days imprisonment without labor. is Later, the court directed the hospital authorities to seize the slaughtered animals and meat and bury them.

In this regard, the executive magistrate of the mobile court, Mamun Khan, said that such operations will continue in Doha in the future to ensure the public's health. At this time, Dohar Upazila Livestock and Veterinary Hospital officials and a team of Doha Police Station were present.
