Father killed by son's stabbing in Kurigram

Kurigram Correspondent:  Father killed by son's stabbing at Phulbari in Kurigram. The incident happened last Saturday at 11 am in Char-Yatindra Narayan village of Shimulbari union of the upazila. Police arrested the killer son Sajedul. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased Akbar Ali (58), son of Habibar Rahma, son of Sajedul Islam after giving water (irrigation) to the maize field all night, at around 10 am on Saturday, father Akbar Ali asked him to water the maize field after eating rice.

Sajedul went to the kitchen and saw that there was no provision for him to eat rice. Later he got angry and stabbed his mother Sahera Banu. When father Akbar Ali came forward to save his wife from him, he too was stabbed by the bullet. When he collapsed on the ground, the locals quickly rescued him and took him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died around 1 pm.

The deceased Akbar Ali was a former UP member of Ward No. 5 of Shimulbari Union. Phulbari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Prankrinch Debnath said that the killer Sajedul was arrested from the corn field on the west side of the deceased's house.
