News Desk: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has stated that 74% of infected children had not received any measles vaccine, while 14% had received a single dose.
This information was shared on Wednesday (April 29) during a briefing by DGHS Director General Professor Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas.
However, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) expects that as vaccination activities continue, immunity will develop in people within the next 3 to 4 weeks, which will help reduce the infection rate.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours in the country (from Tuesday 8:00 AM to Wednesday 8:00 AM), 1,318 suspected measles cases were reported. Among them, 88 cases were confirmed measles infections. During this period, one death was reported among suspected measles patients.
