News Desk: Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Head of Children's Department Professor Dr. Sahida Yasmin said that 30 children died of measles symptoms in Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital this year. One of them was tested positive for measles. Measles was not detected in the body of the remaining 29 people.

Monday (March 30) at noon Professor Dr. Sahida Yasmin told reporters these things.

He also said that currently there are a total of 270 children admitted in the hospital with measles symptoms. Measles has been detected in 35 of them. This year, 30 children died of measles symptoms. One of them is positive. The samples of the remaining 29 people were not found to be measles positive.

Professor Dr. Sahida Yasmin said, treatment is being given in the designated corner and general children's ward for the affected. Isolation has been done separately in the corners of the two wards. I will look into it later when the patient increases.

About 65 percent of the affected children are under six months of age, he added, adding that this is a concern for doctors. However, the number of cases over a year is very low.

Director of Ramek Hospital, Brigadier General PKM Masud-ul-Islam, said that against 1,200 beds, 2,500 to 3,500 patients are admitted every day, so the medical system is under great pressure. Despite the limited manpower and infrastructure, doctors continue to try to provide maximum services.
