Five Fatalities Reported Amid 792 Dengue Hospitalizations Nationwide

News Desk: In the past 24 hours, five people have died from dengue across the country, while 792 others were admitted to various hospitals.

This information was released on Saturday (November 15) in a dengue-related press statement from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.

According to the statement, among the hospitalized dengue patients over the past 24 hours: Barishal division (outside city corporations) recorded 125 cases, Chattogram division 136, Dhaka division 107, Dhaka North City Corporation 226, Dhaka South City Corporation 121, Khulna division 15, Mymensingh division 60, and Sylhet division 2.

During the same period, 783 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 80,243 dengue patients have been discharged.

Up to November 15 of this year, 83,858 people have been infected with dengue, of whom 62.4% are male and 37.6% are female.

In the past 24 hours, dengue has claimed the lives of five more people, all from Dhaka North City Corporation. So far this year, 331 people have died from dengue.

From January 1 to December 31, 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue, resulting in 575 deaths.

In 2023, dengue affected 321,179 people hospitalized nationwide, claiming 1,705 lives.
