Dengue Outbreak Worsens with 488 New Hospital Admissions

News Desk: In the past 24 hours, 488 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue, according to the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Fortunately, no deaths were reported during this period from this mosquito-borne disease.

The official statement, released on Friday, November 7, provides a breakdown of hospital admissions from Thursday 8:00 AM to Friday 8:00 AM:

• Dhaka city hospitals: 234 patients

• Barishal division (outside city corporations): 58 patients

• Chattogram division: 66 patients

• Dhaka division (outside city corporation): 84 patients

• Mymensingh division: 46 patients

So far this year, dengue has claimed 307 lives, including 162 men and 145 women. Additionally, 76,514 people have been hospitalized across the country due to dengue in 2025.

Health authorities continue to urge citizens to remain vigilant, eliminate mosquito breeding sites, and take necessary precautions to prevent further spread of the disease.
