Three more people have died of dengue fever across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 928 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the mosquito-borne disease.
The information was revealed in a report issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (October 30).
According to the DGHS report, between Wednesday 8:00 a.m. and Thursday 8:00 a.m., a total of 928 new dengue patients were hospitalized nationwide. Of them, 345 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka city, 194 in other districts of Dhaka Division, 120 in Barishal, 88 in Chattogram, 46 in Khulna, 56 in Mymensingh, 63 in Rajshahi, 13 in Rangpur, and 3 in Sylhet Division.
With the latest figures, the total number of dengue deaths this year has risen to 278, while 69,356 patients have been hospitalized due to the Aedes mosquito-borne illness so far in 2025.
Health authorities continue to urge citizens to keep their surroundings clean and eliminate stagnant water to curb the spread of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
