In the past 24 hours (from 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday), six people have died from dengue across Bangladesh, while 983 new patients were admitted to hospitals.
The information was revealed in a press release issued on Monday (October 27) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With these new fatalities, the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease this year has risen to 269.
According to DGHS, among the newly admitted patients in the past 24 hours:
Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas): 141
Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas): 111
Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas): 171
Dhaka North City Corporation: 227
Dhaka South City Corporation: 133
Khulna Division (outside city corporation areas): 62
Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation areas): 41
Meanwhile, 970 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours. So far this year, a total of 63,414 dengue patients have recovered and been released from hospitals.
