News Desk: In the past 24 hours, four people have died due to dengue across the country, while 1,143 new patients have been admitted to hospitals. The reporting period is from 8:00 AM on Saturday to 8:00 AM on Sunday.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared this information in a press release on Sunday, October 26.
Of the deceased, two were from the Barishal Division, while one each was reported from Dhaka South City Corporation and the Rajshahi Division.
The press release also stated that 1,143 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, including Dhaka, over the past 24 hours. The breakdown by region is as follows: Barishal Division – 186, Chattogram Division – 121, Dhaka Division – 282, Dhaka North City – 165, Dhaka South City – 154, Khulna Division – 65, Mymensingh Division – 56, Rajshahi Division – 56, Rangpur Division – 50, and Sylhet Division – 8.
Since January this year, a total of 65,440 patients have been hospitalized due to dengue, and 263 people have lost their lives to the disease so far.
Health authorities continue to urge the public to take preventive measures, eliminate mosquito breeding sites, and seek medical attention immediately if dengue symptoms appear.
