News Desk: Dengue continues to take a heavy toll across Bangladesh. In the last 24 hours, three people have died and 735 others have been admitted to hospitals with dengue fever.
The figures were confirmed on Monday (29 September) in a report from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the report, the three latest deaths were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka Division (outside the city corporation areas), and Barishal Division — one death in each location. During the same period, the highest number of new hospital admissions was reported in Dhaka Division, with 156 patients.
The division-wise data shows:
Dhaka North City Corporation: 121 patients
Barishal Division: 116 patients
Chattogram Division: 98 patients
Dhaka South City Corporation: 95 patients
Rajshahi Division: 57 patients
Khulna Division: 39 patients
Mymensingh Division: 35 patients
Rangpur Division: 14 patients
Sylhet Division: 4 patients
On the previous day (Sunday, 28 September), four people had died from dengue. With the latest figures, the official death toll from dengue this year has risen to 195.
