News Desk: In the past 24 hours, 219 more people have been hospitalized with dengue infection, while no dengue-related deaths were reported during this period.
The information was confirmed in a press release issued today (Friday) by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the release, of the patients admitted in the last 24 hours, 43 were from areas outside Barishal City Corporation, 74 from areas outside Chattogram City Corporation, 40 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 39 from Dhaka South City Corporation, and 23 from areas outside Mymensingh City Corporation.
Meanwhile, 255 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country in the past day. With this, a total of 42,478 patients have been released from hospitals so far this year.
The DGHS further reported that since January this year, 44,692 patients have been admitted to hospitals with dengue, and 188 people have died from the disease.
In comparison, from January to December 2024, Bangladesh recorded a total of 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
