At least five people died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours (from 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday), while 636 more were admitted to hospitals.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released the figures on Monday.
With the latest casualties, the total number of dengue deaths this year has risen to 155, while the number of recorded cases has reached 38,527.
According to DGHS, among the latest deaths, two were reported from Barishal division, two from Dhaka North City Corporation, and one from Dhaka South City Corporation.
Currently, 1,844 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country, including 1,098 outside Dhaka.
