News Desk: In the past 24 hours, two more people have died from dengue across the country. During the same period, 364 patients were admitted to hospitals. Both of the deceased were residents of Dhaka South City Corporation.
In the last seven days, a total of 14 people have lost their lives to this mosquito-borne fever. Since January 1 of this year up to September 6, the total number of dengue-related deaths has risen to 132, while the number of confirmed cases has reached 33,831.
This information was provided in the regular dengue bulletin issued on Saturday (September 6) by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the bulletin, among those admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours: 49 are from Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 76 from Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), 50 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), 58 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 73 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 38 from Khulna Division (outside city corporation areas), and 30 from Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation areas).
In the past 24 hours, 359 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 32,153 patients have recovered and been discharged.
From January 1 to September 6, of all dengue cases in the country, 59.6% were male and 40.4% were female.
