NEWS DESK: In the last 24 hours, three more people have died from dengue across the country, while a total of 409 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals during the same period.
This information was released in a press statement on dengue from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room on Sunday (July 27).
The statement noted that among the patients hospitalized with dengue in the last 24 hours, 74 are from Barishal Division (outside City Corporation), 72 from Chattogram Division (outside City Corporation), 67 from Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 32 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 54 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 28 from Khulna Division (outside City Corporation), 11 from Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporation), 51 from Rajshahi Division (outside City Corporation), 16 from Rangpur Division (outside City Corporation), and 4 from Sylhet Division (outside City Corporation).
In the last 24 hours, 530 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 18,223 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
As of July 27 this year, a total of 19,529 people have been infected with dengue. Of these, 58.6 percent are male and 41.4 percent are female.
Three more people have died from dengue in the last 24 hours. A total of 76 people have died from dengue so far this year. Among those who died in the last 24 hours, one was from Rajshahi Division, one from Dhaka South City Corporation, and one from Dhaka North City Corporation.
From January 1 to December 31, 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue, and 575 people died from it.
Prior to this, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, and 321,179 people were hospitalized with dengue.
