Vitamin 'A' Plus campaign begins in Naogaon

Naogaon Correspondent: The National Vitamin 'A' Plus Campaign has started in Naogaon. A discussion meeting was held at the Naogaon Mother and Child Welfare Center on Saturday to mark the campaign. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal was the chief guest.

The program organized by the Naogaon Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Department was chaired by Naogaon Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Aminul Islam, and Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Munir Ali Akand and others also spoke at the program. Various officials and employees of the district, upazila and health departments were also present. Later, the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner, inaugurated the campaign to feed Vitamin 'A' Plus to children. At this time, it was mentioned that there is no alternative to feeding Vitamin A capsules to children. The Deputy Commissioner instructed to be vigilant in this campaign so that not a single child of Naogaon is left out of taking the capsules.

Naogaon Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Aminul Islam said that a total of 3 lakh 57 thousand 587 children will be fed Vitamin A capsules simultaneously in 2 thousand 441 vaccination centers in 11 upazilas and 3 municipalities of the district. For this purpose, 17 health inspectors, 81 assistant health inspectors, 194 health assistants, 371 FWAs, 94 FPIs, 293 CHCPs and 4,882 volunteers are working. Where 34,806 children aged 6-11 months will be fed blue capsules and 322,871 children aged 12-59 months will be fed red capsules.
