Mohammadpur residents protest against Al-Jazeera

News Desk: The people of Mohammadpur have organized a human chain in the capital in protest of spreading false and baseless news on Al-Jazeera involving the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff. On Friday (February 12) afternoon, people from various organizations and classes and professions including Awami League, Chhatra League and Juba League took part in a human chain organized by various sports and cultural clubs at Nanak Chattar in Mohammadpur.

The human chain chanted slogans against the Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera. Leaders of various organizations said that the media was trying to tarnish the image of Bangladesh by spreading false and baseless news about the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff. In order to hinder the country's progress, Al-Jazeera wants to hinder development by spreading fabricated news about its local counterparts. The speakers called for a boycott of Al Jazeera.
