Bumper yield of hybrid cauliflower in Srimangal

Srimangal Correspondent: Farmers' Field Day has been held at Tikaria village of Ashidron union in Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar district on the initiative of Lalti. Farmer Abdul Khaleq presided over the Farmers' Field Day on the field of hybrid cauliflower grower Abdul Momen on Wednesday afternoon at the initiative of Lal Tir Seed Limited.

Amal Chandra Roy, Territory Manager, Laltir, was the special guest at the event. Tapas Chakraborty, Divisional Manager, Lal Tir Seed Limited and DM Mahmudul Hasan (Zahid), PDS Officer, Safal hybrid cauliflower farmer Abdul Momin said that he has 40 per cent of his land. Cauliflower has cultivated the silver variety. So far the production cost has been around Tk 6,000.

So far he has sold cauliflower for Tk 20,000, he said, adding that he can still sell cauliflower for another Rs 15,000-20,000. Tapash Chakraborty, Divisional Manager, Lal Tir Seed Limited, who was the special guest on the occasion, said that Bangaon, Jamsi, Ashidron Union, originally known as Karla Village, is a village where Lalti's hybrid Tia Karala is widely grown.

This time they have succeeded in producing different vegetables, cultivating cauliflower and cultivating the variety. Lalti was by their side in all aspects of their success. He hopes that the production of cauliflower will increase in the future. The president of the program, veteran farmer Abdul Khaleq, said that a large amount of Tia karla is cultivated in Ashidron Union.

This time, they have got success by cultivating hybrid cauliflower along with karla. However, at present the market price has come down a bit. He said early and middle varieties of cauliflower will be planted as a significant crop in the future along with karla.
