Tentulia (Panchagarh) Correspondent: Krishka League has organized a procession and protest rally in Panchagarh Tentulia to protest against the demolition of the sculpture under construction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the dark of night in Kushtia. A protest procession was organized by Krishka League at Chaurasta Bazar of the upazila at 7.30 pm on Monday and a protest rally was held at Tetultala after going around the main road of the city. The protest rally was presided over by Zulfiqar Ali Jewel of Upazila Krishka League and the chief guest was Abdul Latif Tarin, vice-president of Central Krishka League. Abdul Latif Tarin, vice-president of the Central Krishka League, said in his speech, "Those who did not accept the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, the anti-independence, communal, extremist fundamentalist group BNP-Jamaat have smashed the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia."

He added that statues and sculptures are not one. Idols are those who worship. And sculpture is a work of art to keep the national leader, poet and writer memorable. There are sculptures in many Muslim countries in the world. There are hundreds of sculptures of Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia, Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah of Pakistan, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia and Colonel Gaddafi in Libya. But Bangladesh is the country of all religious people. Bangladesh is a country of Muslims, Hindus and Christians. The land of harmony. Then why don't we have a sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in Bangladesh? They have risen to throw the country into anarchy. It will never be allowed to happen in this Bengal soil. He demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the demolition of the sculpture of Bangabandhu, the architect of independent Bangladesh, by finding these razakars and traitors.

Tajirul Islam Taju, president of the district Krishka League, said in his speech at the protest rally that the construction of a sculpture in the name of the person who has made the country independent is an obstacle to hit the sculpture. Which cannot be accepted in an independent country. Those who have done all this are traitors and razakars. At the same time, the keynote speaker Tajirul Islam Taju also demanded exemplary punishment by bringing the culprits to justice in an important speech in protest of the demolition of the sculpture.

Upazila Awami League president Yasin Ali Mandal, Sadar UP chairman Kazi Anisur Rahman, Shalbahan union Awami League general secretary Nurul Islam Lalu, former student leader Abdul Baset, Juba League's Ataur Rahman and Chhatra League president Sohan were present at the rally. Hundreds of leaders and activists of Krishka League, Juba League, Chhatra League, Swechchhasebak League and allied organizations of Awami League also took part in the protest procession and demonstration.
