Lightning strike in Gaibandha: 2 killed

CNI Desk: Two people were killed in a lightning strike at Bhatiapara char in Erendabari union under Fulchhari Upazila of Gaibandha on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nur Mohammad, 40, son of Insaf Ali and Lalchand, 20, son Bahar Uddin, both of them hailing from the area.

Local sources said that a thunder bolt hit them while they were extracting fiber from jute in a pond, leaving them dead on the spot.

 

Erendabari Union Parishad (UP) chairman Azizur Rahman confirmed the matter to media.
