CNI Desk: A fire broke that broke out at a shed of Chattogram Port on Wednesday afternoon has been brought under control.
Fire service sources informed that the fire broke out at Shed No 3 of Jetty No 2 of the port around 4:15pm.
On information, 12 vehicles of three firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one and half an hours of frantic effort, said Port Secretary Md Omar Faruk.
Two ships at the jetty near the shed have been evacuated to a safe location, he said.
The reason behind the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained yet.
