2 killed in Pabna rice coal boiler explosion

Pabna Correspondent: Two people including a child were killed when the boiler exploded while the driver was cooking rice. The incident took place in Jahangir's paddy fields of Kashipur village of Faridpur upazila of Pabna at around 10:30 am on Thursday (March 21).

The deceased are Jahangir Alam (37), son of Abdur Razzak and rice mill owner of Kashipur village of the upazila. The other is Tarek Hossain (5), the child of Pakhi Khatun of Gopal Nagar village, a female laborer working in chatal.

It has been reported that the broiler explosion occurred while cooking paddy in Jahangir's paddy field of Kashipur village. At that time Jahangir Alam, the owner of Chatal, was dismembered and died on the spot.

Tarek Hossain, the child of Pakhi Khatun, another female laborer working in Chatal, was seriously injured after the boiler exploded. He was rescued and taken to Faridpur Upazila Health Complex where the doctor in charge declared him dead.

Faridpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a police team was sent to the spot as soon as the incident was known. Senior police officials including me visited the spot. The body has been handed over to the family.
