The two-day Janmashtami festival of Lord Krishna begins in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: The two-day Janmashtami festival of Lord Krishna has started in Pabna with various arrangements. On Thursday (August 18) afternoon, the festival was organized at the Jayakali Bari temple premises under the initiative of the Pabna Sadar Upazila branch of the Puja Celebration Parishad. Gita recitation, painting and shakha playing competitions were held in the Jayakali Bari temple premises at 3 pm. Devotional songs were then arranged. The overall supervision and management of this festival is done by Rotarian Prabhas Chandra Bhadra, Vice President of Pooja Udjakar Parishad, Pabna Sadar Upazila Branch and Komal Chandra Das, General Secretary. Badal Chandra Ghosh, general secretary of Pabna district branch of Puja Udjakar Parishad, was present. Bishnapada Sarkar, Assistant Professor of Philosophy Department of Pabna Government Edward College, Tushar Kumar Sarkar, Assistant Professor of Bengali Department, Nirupam Dhar, Director of Hindu Religious Trust, Ashish Kumar Sarkar, Lecturer of Ataikula Degree College, Reena Rani Biswas, Anjali Rani Dutta, Ram Maitra and Mukti Rani Ghosh. On the second day of the festival on Friday, there will be mangal lamp lighting, Gita reading, opening discussion, colorful procession, discussion meeting, prize distribution and cultural programs. Pabna Sadar Constituency Member of Parliament Ghulam Farooq Prince will be the chief guest on the occasion. Other guests include Pabna Deputy Commissioner Biswas Russell Hossain, Superintendent of Police Mohibul Islam Khan, Sadar Upazila Chairman Mosharraf Hossain and many others.
