Ashulia (Dhaka) Correspondent: In Savar, Dhaka, a group of 3 members, posing as people from the rural electricity office, robbed the house of Arju Mir, the upazila correspondent of the Daily Jaya Din newspaper. At that time, the bandits tied his wife's hands and feet and robbed them of diamonds and necessary items for news gathering. The robbery took place at his own house near the Rajaghat graveyard in Tentuljhora in Savar around 11 am on Thursday. The victim, journalist Arju Mir, said that at 11 am, a gang of three robbers entered his house posing as people from the electricity office. At that time, he tied his wife's hands and feet and stole Tk 20/25,000 in cash, 1 diamond ring, 2 diamond knuckles and a laptop used for news gathering, mobile phone and other valuables and ran away quickly. After hearing the screams, local people came and rescued his wife with her hands and feet tied. In this regard, Hemayetpur Tannery police outpost in-charge and police inspector Md Russell Molla said, we have visited the spot after receiving the information. Besides, we are trying to identify the criminals by reviewing the CCTV footage of the area. Preparations are underway to file a case in the police station.
