Urge to train working people in Faridpur on Population Day meeting

Ehsan Rana, Faridpur: On the occasion of World Population Day, a rally and discussion meeting was organized in Faridpur. A colorful rally was taken out in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday morning at 8:30 am. Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar inaugurated the rally. Later, a discussion meeting was organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) was the chief guest in the meeting under the chairmanship of Mozammel Haque, Deputy Director of District Family Planning Department. Liton Ali. Acting Civil Surgeon Shah Md. was the special guest. Badruddoja. Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Kamrul Hassan spoke among others, Principal Officer of RPTI Dr. Harichand Sheel, District Awami League General Secretary SM Ishtiaq Arif, Upazila Chairman A. Razzak Molya, head of FPB. Shah Jahan and others. SM Al Kamal, Assistant Director of Faridpur Family Planning gave a welcome speech at the meeting. Assistant Director of Family Planning Department Sanwar Hossain Khan presented the main article through power point in the discussion meeting. The best staff of family planning department and public representatives of local government were present in the meeting. Speakers in the meeting said that there are currently 800 million people in the world. In 1987 it was five hundred crores. Hence the importance of family planning programs is undeniable. They said, we have to reduce the maternal mortality rate, birth rate. The normal birth rate should be increased. Our workforce is high. If we can train them, we can become economically self-sufficient. They also said that Bangladesh is above the poverty line today because the family planning department is working. At the end of the meeting, crests were awarded to the employees who achieved excellence in various categories of family planning department. Note that last July 11 was World Population Day. However, due to the Eid-ul-Azhar holiday, the day is being celebrated on July 21 this year. Rallies and discussion meetings were also held in different upazilas of the district on this occasion.
