Rabiul Alam, Kushtia: The family has alleged that a businessman named Liakat Mondal (64) was killed by a brick in Chaler border area of ​​Kushtia suburb. He died at Kushtia General Hospital around 1 pm on Thursday. The deceased is the son of deceased Jada Mandal of Liaquat Chaler border area. He is a food hotelier in rice border area. Police arrested two people in this incident. Imran Mandal, son of the deceased Liaquat Mandal, said that at around 12:30 am, some identified drug addicts Sabuj and Munna of Chal border area attacked his house and hit his father with a brick on his chest and escaped. When the injured father was rescued and taken to Kushtia General Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sabbirul Alam said that the body of deceased Liaquat Mandal has been sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The death can be confirmed only after an autopsy. The matter is being investigated. A complaint has been filed by the family at the police station. The OC also said that two people have been detained for questioning in this incident. On the other hand, the police recovered the body of a young man named Nazrul Islam (30) from under the Kalitala Bridge of Mirpur Upazila around 10 am on Thursday. The deceased Nazrul Parshbarti is the son of Soleman of Chhatian Union. He used to do agricultural work in the field. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirpur Police Station Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter and said that the smell of poison was found on the mouth of the deceased Nazrul. The body was recovered and sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The cause of death will be known only after the autopsy. The OC also said that the matter is being investigated.
