Preparatory meeting on the occasion of formation of Diar Upazila in Chapainawabganj

Faruk Hossain, Chapainawabganj: A preparatory meeting has been held in Padmapara of Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj demanding formation of "Diar Upazila" with 6 unions formed. The meeting was held at noon on Sunday (June 26) in the room of the administrator of Chapainawabganj district council. The meeting was organized by Diar Upazila Parishad Implementation Committee. In the meeting, the speakers emphasized on collecting public signatures and hanging poster festoons with emphasis on creating public opinion in the next few days. Present at the time, District Council Administrator Ashraful Haque, Sadar Upazila Awami League General Secretary Adv. Nazrul Islam, former chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Professor Mokhlesur Rahman, former member of Zila Parishad Alhaj Rafiqul Islam, former Zila Parishad member Abul Basar, Debinagar UP chairman Hafizur Rahman and others. Earlier, a general meeting was held at the Sundarpur Union Parishad office of Sadar Upazila on May 13 to form the Diar Upazila Parishad Implementation Committee. Rajshahi University Registrar Professor at the meeting. A 17-member Diar Upazila Parishad Implementation Committee was formed with Abdus Salam as convener and former member of the district council Alhaj Rafiqul Islam as member secretary. There are also 10 more people in the committee as advisors.
