In Panchagarh fire, 22 houses were burnt to ashes and 13 families were killed

Panchagarh Correspondent: 22 houses have been burnt to ashes in the Panchagarh fire. Everything in the houses of 13 families was burnt in the incident. The fire broke out in Majhipara village of Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon. Later, fire service personnel including locals tried to bring the fire under control.

Satmera UP chairman Ataur Rahman, quoting locals, said the fire could have started from an electrical short circuit or a gas cylinder. However, 22 houses, including paddy, rice, and cash were burnt in the fire. Niranjan Sarkar, station officer of the fire service, said the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could be determined immediately subject to investigation. However, about 20 houses have been burnt down.

Later, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Upazila Parishad Chairman Amirul Islam, local chairman Ataur Rahman and A-League leaders visited the spot. Upazila Nibarhi Officer Arif Hossain said, "I have visited the spot after getting the news of the fire." I have given dry food and blankets to 13 families. I have collected their list and tomorrow they will be given tin and cash by the Upazila administration.
