Cox's Bazar cement truck loses control on footpath, 2 killed

News Desk: Two people were killed and at least six others were seriously injured in a road accident at Cox's Bazar's Kalatali Dolphin Junction. The accident took place at around 10:30 pm on Saturday (March 8) when a truck loaded with cement lost control and crushed CNG and Tomtom standing on the side of the road.

The deceased were identified as Momena Begum, 65, and Shahadat Hossain of Dakshin Adarsh ​​village in Kalatali district of Cox's Bazar. The head of the deceased Shahadat Hossain has been severed from his body.

One of the injured Osman Gani has been taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Shaheen Abdur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the deaths of the two.

Witnesses said the truck carrying cement reached the hilly road at Kalatali junction on its way to Cox's Bazar town, lost control and crushed two CNG-powered autorickshaws and some pedestrians. Shahdat Hossain died on the spot.

Cox's Bazar fire brigade rescued eight people and took them to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital.
