News Desk: Germany, Sweden and Poland, the three European countries, retaliated by expelling their diplomats from Russia. Russia's diplomats have been expelled from three European countries. They expelled Russian diplomats in retaliation for the expulsion of their diplomats from Russia.

The foreign ministries of Germany, Sweden and Poland announced the expulsion of Russian diplomats on Monday. All three countries last week protested the expulsion of their diplomats from Moscow.

In an immediate response to the incident, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the decision to expel Russian diplomats from three European countries was unacceptable.

"The action that the western countries are taking against our country is just a continuation of that," he said. Which we consider to be external interference in Russia's internal affairs. Russia has expelled diplomats from Germany, Sweden and Poland for protesting against Alexei Navalny, Russia's main opposition leader and fierce critic of President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow views this as an external interference in its internal affairs. The expulsion of the diplomats came just hours after European Union Foreign Minister Joseph Borel met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on Friday. On January 17, Navalny returned to Moscow, Russia from Berlin, Germany. He was arrested at the airport. He was later remanded in custody for 30 days.

He has been in jail ever since. After being poisoned in Russia in August last year, Navalny returned to Berlin, Germany, for treatment. On February 3, a Moscow court sentenced Navalny to three-and-a-half years in prison.

Navalny was sentenced in 2014 to life in prison for violating a suspended sentence. Proponents of her case have been working to make the actual transcript of this statement available online.

Thousands protested in Russia in support of him. Protests in Moscow have also turned violent. There has been a strong reaction from the international arena to Navalny's sentencing. The Council of Europe, Europe's top human rights body, said the ruling was beyond belief. U.S. President Joe Biden also demanded Navalny's release.
