The attack was intended to send a 'message' to Iran: Israeli official

News Desk:  Two US officials told CBS News that an Israeli missile had hit Iran. Iran's state media also confirmed the news of the explosion in Isfahan province.

However, since neither Iran nor Israel has officially announced anything, there is confusion about the matter. Meanwhile, the Washington Post quoted an Israeli official as saying that the attack on Iran was carried out by the Israeli military.  

Israel carried out the attack in response to Iran's attack on April 13. Iran carried out the attack in response to an attack on Tehran's embassy in Damascus, Syria.  

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Israel's intention was to send a message to Iran that it has the capability to strike inside the country.  

The Washington Post also cited a person briefed on the attack. He also spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak about the matter. He described the attack as a 'carefully planned attack'.  

Ever since Iran's attack on Israeli territory, Iran has been taking extreme precautions for fear of a return attack.
