Five people were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks in Tangail

News Desk: Five people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. The accident took place at around 8 am on Tuesday (December 6) in the Gharinda bypass area of ​​Tangail Sadar upazila.

Witnesses said a truck carrying vegetables from North Bengal reached Gharinda in Tangail in the morning and collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Four people died on the spot and three others were injured.

Witnesses said the on-duty doctor declared another dead when the injured were rescued and taken to hospital. The death toll rose to five. The other two injured are being treated. The names of the immediate victims were not known.

Tangail Fire Service Deputy Director Jalal Hossain said rescue operations had started immediately after the incident.
