News Desk: The ferry service has resumed on the Daulatdia-Paturia route, the gateway to 21 districts in the south-west of the country, after being closed for about a quarter of an hour due to dense fog. As the fog density in the Padma River basin decreased around 8:30 am on Sunday, the ferry service resumed on this route.

Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the Daulatdia-Khulna highway waiting to cross the river as the ferry service was suspended for some time. Earlier, at around 8:50 am, the ghat authorities stopped ferry service on the Padma River to avoid accidents due to the increase in fog. BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Manager (Commerce) Abu Abdullah Rony said the ferry service was resumed at around 7.30 am due to reduced fog.

Now the pressure of the vehicles in the serial is rapidly decreasing. At present 15 small and big ferries are plying on this route.
