Human chain program in Dinajpur demanding sexual harassment and harassment free education

Dinajpur Correspondent: A human chain program was held in Dinajpur today on Wednesday around noon on the call of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad to demand sexual oppression and harassment free education. The representatives of the feminist organization participated in the program ignoring the torrential rain. They protested against the incitement to suicide of a law student in Dhaka's Jagannath University and the sexual harassment of a 6th class student in Dinajpur.

Ratan Kumar, the headmaster of Sardeswari Girls' School, former headmaster Safiqul Islam, Sultan Kamal Uddin Bachchu, president of the district committee of Sammilita Sanskultur Jota, Raonak Ara Neepa of the voluntary private development association Pallishri and Kanij Rahman, president of the district committee of Mahila Parishad, and others spoke at the protest rally.

They demanded an exemplary punishment for Raihan Siddiqui, a student of the law department of Jagannath University, who was accused of instigating the suicide of a student of the law department of the university, Assistant Proctor Deen Aman. Besides, the speakers expressed their concern about the sexual harassment of the 6th class girl in Dinajpur.
