Two drivers lost their lives in a collision between a bus and a truck in Tangail

Md. Rashed Khan Menon, Tangail: Two drivers were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck at Kalihati in Tangail. At least 10 people were injured in this accident. The accident took place on Sunday (July 24) around 5 am in Salla area of ​​Kalihati upazila on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway.

The names and identities of those killed and injured in the accident are yet to be known. However, among those killed, one was a bus driver and another was a truck driver. Police rescued the injured from the spot and sent them to Tangail 250-bed General Hospital for treatment.

In this regard, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bangabandhu Setu East Police Station Jhilkad Hossain said that the Hanif Transport passenger bus from North Bengal to Dhaka and the North Bengal-bound truck from Dhaka had a head-on collision when they reached Salla. He then lost control and hit the back of a pickup truck. Hanif bus driver and truck driver died on the spot. 10 people were injured in this accident. They were rescued and sent to Tangail General Hospital.

He also said that the identities of the dead and injured are yet to be known. After identification of the two, they will be handed over to their relatives after the legal process. Meanwhile, due to this accident, traffic jam has been created on both sides from Bangabandhu Bridge East to Elenga. However, the police is working to resolve the traffic jam and rescue the 2 accident vehicles. The police also said that the traffic will be normal soon.
