Abdul Awal, Thakurgaon: Jute is called golden fibers in the country. A major role of which has always been observed in the agricultural sector of the domestic economy. Apart from this, other production industries like the textile industry are also playing a role, even though jute cultivation is sometimes difficult, but due to the favorable weather, the farmers are interested in jute cultivation again in the hope of good yield. Almost all the upazilas in Thakurgaon have jute plantations. Along with other crops depending on the season, the green tips of jute were seen swinging in the farmer's land this time. That tip is now cut off and ready to take home. The yield has been good. If the market price matches as expected, it will be sad. Farmers are happy with that. This happiness is blocked by drought and lack of rain. Although there is some water in some beel areas during the ongoing monsoon season, most of the rivers, drains, canals and beels in other areas do not have enough water due to severe drought and lack of rain. Due to which the farmers are worried about rotting of jute. As a result, there is concern about timely domestication and preparation for sale in the market. In this regard, Harun Mia, a farmer of Farabari area, said, I have planted jute on 5-7 bigha land. The yield has also been good, but due to insufficient water in the river, they are rotting. Samad Malitha, a farmer of Mohammadpur Union, said that there has been severe drought for a long time. There is no water in the canals along with the river channels. Due to which it is difficult to raise jute at home. According to Thakurgaon Agriculture Extension Directorate, we are working on the problem. We have solved the water problem in most places in different areas. Our efforts continue. Moreover, if it rains, solving this problem will be easier. It is noted that there are jute plantations in some upazilas of Thakurgaon district. Especially in Haripur, Thakurgaon Sadar like Bill area there are more plantations. In total, this time in the district more than 45 thousand hectares of land
