About 5 lakh children to be fed Vitamin A Plus capsules in Bogra 4-day campaign

Sanju Roy, Bogra: A four-day campaign is being launched from June 15 to June 19 with the target of giving Vitamin A Plus capsules to 4,60,475 children in Bogra under the slogan 'Feed Vitamin A, Reduce Risk of Child Death'. District Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Shafiul Azam gave this information at a press orientation workshop on the campaign organized by the Civil Surgeon's Office Bogra in the meeting room of the office on Tuesday afternoon. At the workshop, the District Civil Surgeon said that Vitamin A not only prevents malnutrition but also enhances immunity and reduces infant mortality by eliminating the complications and complications of diarrhea. It also reduces the risk of getting infected with Covid-19. Therefore, as a national program implemented by the National Nutrition Service, Public Health Nutrition Institute, Department of Health, Ministry of Health and Family Planning in Bogra through 2,706 centers, this time around 56,618 children aged 6 to 11 months were given one blue capsule and A target has been set to give one capsule of red color to about 4 lakh 23 thousand 6 hundred and eight children aged 12 to 59 months. The campaign will start on Wednesday, June 15 and will continue for a total of 4 days till Sunday, June 19, where capsule feeding will be stopped on Fridays. The campaign will run from 9 am to 3 pm at all EPI vaccination centers in the district for these 4 days. He added that each center in Bogra will have a representative of the health department and two trained volunteers to conduct the campaign. Asked who will not be able to take the capsule, the Civil Surgeon said that those who have taken the capsule in the last 4 months will not get it, if the child is sick or his parents do not want to give the capsule to their child, children above 5 years and less than 6 months. Can't eat. Also present at the meeting were Bogra Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Samir Hossain Mishu, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Shahnaz Parveen, Medical Officers of Civil Surgeon's Office Dr. Sajjad-ul-Haq and Dr. Divakar Basak, Bogra Press Club President Mahmudul Alam Nayan, General Secretary. Journalists of print and electronic media working in the district including Amjad Hossain Mintu. The entire program was conducted by Saharul Islam Khan, a statistician from the Civil Surgeon's Office. Finally, the District Civil Surgeon Dr. Shafiul Azam concluded the meeting by seeking the sincere cooperation of all the people of Bogra for the implementation of the campaign through the media.
