If there is no fair election, the state will fail: EC Anichur Rahman

News Desk:  Election Commissioner said that if there is no fair election, then the state itself will fail. Anishur Rahman. He said this at the opening ceremony of the training program for executive magistrates on the occasion of the 12th National Assembly elections on Tuesday (January 2).

He was the chief guest today on the last day of continuous training at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Sherebangla Nagar of the capital.

Md. Anichur Rahman said, if the election is not fair, Bangladesh will be isolated from the whole world. So the election cannot be allowed to fail in any way. You have to do what you have to do when and where. 

In the speech of the chief guest, he said that the only instruction of the Election Commission is to conduct free, fair, impartial and acceptable elections. In this case, you have to rise above honesty, devotion and team spirit and fulfill your responsibilities. A coalition and a political party are conducting anti-election programmes. 

They said, do not cause any violent incident. Despite this, the 2014 elections had examples of widespread violence. So be careful. Magistrates cannot be mistaken. Because the magistrates will be criticized if they are wrong. 

He also said that there is no alternative to free, fair, impartial and acceptable elections. You will perform your duty with honesty and devotion.

In the speech of the special guest, Mostafizur Rahman said that public transport such as buses of different lines, CNG and private cars will be plying to increase the attendance of voters at the center on the polling day. However, movement of motorcycles and micros is prohibited. Judges must be careful when talking on the phone. Don't talk to mass media. Keep a cool head in any situation. Treat people well. They should cooperate with foreign journalists and observers by treating them well. Don't listen to any rumors while on duty.
