News Desk: Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has returned to Dhaka after concluding official visits to Malaysia and China. This marked his first overseas tour as the head of the government. The information was confirmed by the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Rumon.
On Friday (June 26), at 5:15 p.m. local time in China, the Prime Minister departed from Beijing Daxing International Airport aboard a China Southern Airlines flight bound for Dhaka. The aircraft landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 7:47 p.m. Bangladesh time.
Prime Minister Tareque Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, were given a red-carpet farewell at the airport before their departure. Yue Xiaoyong, the Special Envoy of the Chinese President, was present to extend his best wishes. The Prime Minister and his wife stepped out of their vehicle, walked along the red carpet, and boarded the aircraft.
On June 21, the Prime Minister left Dhaka for a two-day state visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. After completing his Malaysia visit, he arrived in Dalian, China, on the night of June 22.
In Dalian, the Prime Minister attended the Summer Session of the World Economic Forum and held bilateral meetings with several world leaders. On Wednesday afternoon, he traveled from Dalian to Beijing aboard China's high-speed railway.
In Beijing, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman held an important bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. He also paid a courtesy call on Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
The Prime Minister also participated in a major investment summit in Beijing aimed at promoting Bangladesh's trade, commerce, and investment opportunities.
It is hoped that the Prime Minister's five-day visit to Malaysia and China will open new avenues for Bangladesh's economy, strengthen bilateral relations, and attract greater foreign investment.
