News Desk: Four children died with symptoms of measles during the 24-hour period from 8:00 a.m. Thursday to 8:00 a.m. Friday. This brings the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-related complications since March 15 to 702.
Of the total fatalities, 93 deaths have been confirmed as caused by measles, while 609 people died after developing symptoms consistent with the disease.
The information was released on Friday (June 26) in a report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the government health agency, 107 new confirmed measles cases were identified during the past 24 hours. During the same period, 869 people were reported to have developed symptoms consistent with measles.
As a result, the total number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases recorded since March 15 has reached 11,549, while the total number of suspected infections has risen to 97,522.
