News Desk: China, a major power in the Western world and Asia, is eager to know about the position of neighboring Bangladesh after Myanmar's military took power. The US and Chinese ambassadors have already met with the foreign secretary.

Besides, some European countries also want to understand the position of Bangladesh. Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen said he had spoken to the Chinese ambassador on Monday. He said China was in touch with China for a tripartite meeting, adding that Bangladesh and China were willing to hold a meeting with Myanmar on February 4. Myanmar had given a time before that.

Now we are waiting for that time or another day due to the changed situation. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden issued a stern statement on the incident in Myanmar on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, US Ambassador Earl Miller met with the Secretary of State.

In this regard, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We wanted to know about their position and they also wanted to know what position Bangladesh will take in the changed situation."

The US statement mentioned the possibility of imposing a blockade and asked if it had been discussed. On the other hand, at least two European countries met with foreign ministry officials and asked what Bangladesh would do if the Rohingya wave started again.
