Foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka praised Sheikh Hasina's leadership

News Desk: Diplomats of different countries in Dhaka have highly praised the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during Corona. Joining a webinar on Saturday, they called Bangladesh's achievements under his leadership "unique and incomparable" over the past decade.

Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming said what the Awami League-led government has achieved for Bangladesh over the past decade is exceptional. Bangladesh and China still have great opportunities for cooperation between the governments and political parties of the two countries. Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswamy said the development that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government have achieved over the past decade is unique.

He added that India's commitment to Bangladesh remained unchanged and that the roots of the two countries' relationship "surpassed any strategic partnership". Turkish Ambassador Mostafa Osman Turan said the country's progress under the Awami League government is recognized by the international community. Bangladesh is now the emerging tiger of South Asia on the path of sustainable development as a nation. He praised the tolerance of the Bangladeshi people in dealing with natural disasters and epidemics.

They were speaking at a special webinar titled 'Political Leadership: Give and Now' on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's fourth term and two years in office. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was the chief guest at a webinar organized by the Awami League's sub-committee on international affairs. A new documentary titled 'Leadership Matters: How Sheikh Hasina is Leading Bangladesh through the Pandemic' was aired on the webinar by Barrister Shah Ali Farhad, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a member of the Sub-Committee on International Affairs.

Besides, on the occasion of Mujib Year, the cover of a publication titled 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib: The Global Leader Transcending Time and Boundaries' was unveiled. Inaugurating the publication on the occasion, Foreign Minister Momen highlighted various aspects of the leadership of the Father of the Nation in building 'Sonar Bangla'.

He highlighted various aspects of the administrative system to ensure food, crops and shelter during the epidemic. At the same time, the Foreign Minister appreciated the security programs and incentive packages given by the Prime Minister as a way to reduce the adverse effects of the epidemic on the economy and society. In his concluding remarks, former Ambassador Muhammad Jamir, Chairman of the Awami League's Sub-Committee on International Affairs, said today's Bangladesh is a role model for sustainable development due to Sheikh Hasina's pragmatic and timely policies and programs.

Praising the strong leadership of the Prime Minister during the epidemic, he called for mutual cooperation among all countries of the world, especially among Asian countries, to counter the effects of Kovid-19. Ambassadors from Algeria, Vietnam and Korea, among others, and officials from the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan were present at the event. In his welcome address, Shammi Ahmed, International Affairs Secretary of the Awami League, highlighted the progress and development of the Bangladesh government on issues like Padma Bridge, infrastructural development, poverty alleviation and women empowerment in the 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also highlighted how Sheikh Hasina has stood by humanitarian issues such as the Rohingya crisis and engaged the international community in the process. Barrister Farhad said the video documentary and memoir 'Soon' published on Saturday would be published on the official website of the Bangladesh Awami League, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
