News Desk:  Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that Awami League does not have any tension with big countries regarding the upcoming National Parliament elections. He does not think that there will be any question of international acceptance in the elections to be conducted with independent candidates.

The minister said these things while talking to some journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (December 27). The question is whether big countries have tension or compromised on the election. To Momen. In response, he said, there is no tension. Because we are committed to conducting free and fair and conflict-free elections. Nothing happened.

The foreign minister said, India, America, European Union are our friends. They are our development partners. We have a long relationship with them. We have very good relations with America. Although America was against us in 1971, since the day we got independence, America has been supporting us constantly. Always supported. There were 16 proposals for UN membership, America voted for us at 15.

He also said that India has always been helping us. Still cooperating. Our golden chapter with them. Europe is our big market. If they didn't like us they wouldn't buy our stuff. They (US) want to improve labor conditions, we welcome. But it must be real.

When asked if friendly countries objected to Bangladesh's election, but it was a diplomatic success, the foreign minister said, "We believe in our policy." All nations love those who believe in principles. We want free and fair nirvana. We want to take the democratic process forward. We do not want to destroy democracy in Bangladesh, we do not want terrorism. This is our goal. This is also the goal of the West. So we are with them. They (foreigners) are watching the opposite party (BNP) but they say one thing, they are terrorists. Nobody likes them.

Regarding the Western pressure on the election. "We never feel pressure," Momen said. You media pressured us. Our stress is our own stress. We ourselves feel the pressure to have an acceptable and free and fair election. We want to show the world. Not at the urging of others. Others came to our aid. America has come to our aid.

Dr. also pointed out what kind of help America wants. Momen. He said, America has come to help us. Their help is that those who boycott or resist the election, they (the United States) will not take into their country. It is up to them to take them into their country or not.

The foreign minister said, as America said, they will apply the visa policy to those who resist or boycott the elections. I will be very happy if they really implement it. They (BNP) are boycotting the election. Campaigning for the election not to be held. But it is better to do the commitment that America makes.

Dr. intended for BNP. Momen said BNP has lost the support of foreigners due to leadership negligence and immaturity.

He said, unlike our party, many foreigners have lost faith in them. Earlier I thought they (BNP) were probably too strong. But after the October 28 movement, they saw that it was not a democratic party. Democratic parties do not engage in military activities.

BNP criticized Dr. Momen said, they seem to be undemocratic, terrorist groups. Nobody likes terrorism. I think they have lost the support of many (foreigners) due to the negligence and immaturity of their leadership.

On the question of acceptance of elections with independent candidates in the international arena, the foreign minister said, it will definitely happen. Why not? Of course it will. If the voter votes, then it is acceptable. If there is an election like in February 1996, 10-15 percent vote; Then not acceptable. The people of the country did not accept it.

Dr. said the big challenge of bringing voters to the polling station. Momen said, our big challenge now is that we want more people to come to the center and vote. Ulto Dal (BNP) is spreading panic. There is no reason to panic. This year's election commission is very strong. Our police force is very advanced. There is no reason to panic. All polling stations are secure.

In response to another question. Momen said, we do not want shadow war in this area. Now all the countries in the region agree with us. We don't want a shadow war. Europeans have fallen into a shadow war. We do not want shadow wars in our region.
