Jhenaidah Correspondent: In separate operations at the Maheshpur border of Jhenaidah, arms were recovered and 11 Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
According to BGB sources, at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, 11 September 2025, an operation was conducted in the area under the responsibility of Baghdanga BOP of Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB). About 150 yards inside the border near Pillar-60/41-R, a locally made pistol and one round of ammunition were recovered from a pile of straw beside the warehouse of local resident Tunu Mia. The operation was led by JCO-8751 Subedar Md. Atiar Rahman. The recovered weapon and ammunition are being submitted to Maheshpur Police Station.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the authorities of Jorpura Camp of India’s 194 BSF Battalion informed the Poliyanpur BOP commander of Maheshpur Battalion (58 BGB) that 11 Bangladeshi nationals (2 men, 5 women, and 4 children) had been apprehended while attempting to enter India illegally. Later, at 9:30 p.m., they were handed over to the BGB through a flag meeting near Border Pillar 61/7-S at the company commander level. The BGB then recorded the matter in the General Diary (GD) and transferred the detainees to LifeNagar Police Station.
BGB Assistant Director Munshi Imdadur Rahman confirmed the incident to the media.
